A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly strangulating a four-year-old boy to death after sodomising him near Madurai on Tuesday.
Police said Ramakrishnan (35) of Vannivelampatti, had forcibly taken Muthu Kirshnan (4) of the same village, while he was playing near his house, to a remote place and sodomized the boy before murdering him. Later, he buried the body near a tank. When the boy’s father enquired with locals, they told that he saw the boy with Ramakrishnan. On information, police picked up Ramakrishnan for inquiry. During interrogations, he confessed to the crime.
Cases under various sections of IPC have been booked against Ramakrishnan. He was produced before a special court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
