Issue of membership forms for AIADMK cadre begins

As part of the organisational elections of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the issue of forms for renewal of membership and enrolment of new members commenced on Thursday at the party headquarters here. Large number of AIADMK cadre and functionaries, including ministers and district secretaries, thronged the party office to receive the forms. The issue of forms was commenced by party treasurer and Finance Minister O Panneerselvam.

Party supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had already said that the cadre and functionaries should fill in the forms and hand them over at the party headquarters by July 7 along with necessary fee. She had said only those who have renewed their membership would be eligible to contest and exercise their franchise in the organisational elections. The cadre should fully engage themselves in the work, she added. The forms can be had from AIADMK headquarters here between 10 am and 5 pm. As per Rule 30(2) of AIADMK, organisational elections are to be conducted once in five years.
