First phase of Hamla concludes

The first phase of coastal security exercise Hamla, led by the Indian Coast Guard Station, Puducherry, concluded on Friday evening.

The civil administration, police, fisheries and customs departments of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, Coastal Security Group and the Marine Police took part in the mock exercise held to assess capabilities and revalidate standard operating procedures against terror attacks by anti-national elements using sea route.

ICG Commandant, Puducherry, N Somasundaram, said that all the personnel involved coordinated well during the exercise and it would help them face a real situation.
