AIADMK executive committee meet on June 8

Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa has convened the executive committee meeting of the party on June 8.

The meeting will take place at the AIADMK headquarters here and will be chaired by the party’s presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan.

The meeting is likely to take stock of the present political situation and review the ongoing preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections besides the biennial elections to the six seats of Rajya Sabha.

Reshuffle in Dists

Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa announced the re-organisation of AIADMK units in Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts and appointed fresh office-bearers.

Kanyakumari district will be split into Kanyakumari East and Kanyakumari West. Kanyakumari East will have the Assembly constituencies - Kanyakumari, Nagercoil and Colachel while Kanyakumari West will have Padmanabhapuram, Vilavancode and Killiyoor.

A Sivaselvarajan, secretary, Kurunthancode unit, will be secretary of Kanyakumari East district. Similarly, T John Thangam, secretary, Melpuram unit, will be the secretary of Kanyakumari West district. Tirunelveli party district that has been functioning as Tirunelveli Urban North, Tirunelveli Urban South and Tirunelveli Town units, will be re-organised as Tirunelveli Town and Tirunelveli Urban.
