'Utilise CSR funds for infra development'

The Yanam unit of AIADMK on Wednesday petitioned the State seeking utilisation of the Rs12 crore fund provided for development of the Yanam region by the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation under its corporate social responsibility initiative.

In a memorandum to Chief Secretary Chetan B Shanghi, AIADMK Yanam secretary, Saikumar,  wanted the funds to be utilised  for laying roads, installing a solar power unit on top of the Mini Civil Station and constructing a building to house the Ayurveda and Homeopathy Hospital at Yanam. He also urged the State to vacate the interim stay order on Regency Ceramics, which locked out its operations due to a labour unrest.
