Prohibitory Orders Clamped in TN District for 15 Days

TIRUNELVELI: Prohibitory orders under section 144 of Crpc have been promulgated in the district for 15 days from August 20 to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebration of the birth anniversary of Pulithevan on September One and Ondiveeran on August 20, officials said.

Pulithevan and Ondiveeran were the first freedom fighters of south India.

Hired vans and other vehicles with caste outfit flags from other districts would not be allowed into the district, they said.

Vehicles from other districts would be checked before they were allowed into the district, they said.

Onidiveeran and Pulithevan birth anniversaries are celebrated in this district by caste outfits.
