Case Against Vaiko, 3 MDMK Leaders for 'Unlawful Assembly'

A case of unlawful assembly and disobedience to public servant's order has been filed against MDMK leader Vaiko and three other party leaders, police said.

CHENNAI:: A case of unlawful assembly and disobedience to public servant's order has been filed against MDMK leader Vaiko and three other party leaders, police said.

Police at the airport filed a case under Sections 143 (unlawful assembly) and 188 (disobedience to order of public servant) of the IPC, over an incident at the international air terminal here when thousands of MDMK cadres gathered to welcome Vaiko, who arrived here from Kuala Lumpur, they said.

The gathering's presence posed a threat to law and order in the area, following which the law and Order Inspector attached with the Airport Police Station filed a case, they said.
