DMK Delinks Stalin From Fest Wishes

Express News Service

CHENNAI: In a twist to party treasurer M K Stalin’s wishes to the people, posted on his social media sites on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi on Friday, DMK on Sunday said it was done without seeking his consent.

Blaming it on the over-enthusiasm of some aides of Stalin, a statement from the party headquarters said the wishes had been posted without the DMK leader’s permission. “The social media portals show him as extending his greetings to the people on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi. It has been done without seeking his permission,” statement said. The comment, accompanied by a picture of Lord Ganesha on Stalin’s official Facebook page said, “Greetings to all on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi”. The post drew sharp comments from netizens, most criticising him for moving away from the rationalist principles of Dravidian politics.
