DHARMAPURI:  People helped flood victims from Chennai and Cuddalore in their own ways. A man from Dharmapuri however decided to offer prayers. Well, many did that too. But, he offered prayers at  5,359 m from sea level: Khardung La pass located in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir.

J N Jegannathan, an entrepreneur and president of Lions Club, travelled more than 3,000 kms  and trekked several kilometers to reach Khardung La pass.

Speaking to Express, he said, “I personally felt that it was not enough. We ruined nature. Hence, nature was showing her anger by way of relentless rain and flood. I wanted to pacify her. So I went to Khardung La top to pray for the flood victims.”

He left Dharmapuri on December 17.. On December 19, he reached the pass and offered prayers to the victims for more than 45 minutes.
