VELLORE:A 49-year-old man was arrested on Friday evening for allegedly cheating several persons of several lakh of rupees for failing to deliver on promises made of placing them in jobs in the private sector and even the Madras High Court.
S Sayeed Usher Khan, a realtor of T V K Nagar in Sipcot was arrested. The police are yet to secure his associate, Prabhakar Sathiya, a history-sheeter in Chennai.
Out of the six individuals who have so far filed a complaint against Khan, one of them claimed that he was cheated of Rs 1 lakh. According to police, Mutheeswaran, five others have filed police complaints against Usher Khan on the same issue with approximately Rs 6 lakh of money embezzled by Khan.
Prabhakar Sathiya, a history-sheeter in Chennai, was released recently from jail. As many as “Sixty people have claimed that they were cheated by Prabhakar Sathiya in Chennai. We are yet to secure him,” said Nagarajan, DSP, Ranipet.
A case was registered under Sections 294(b), 468, 471, 420 and 506(ii) of Indian Penal Code and an inquiry is on.
