Corporation Office Gets Biometric Attendance

VELLORE: A biometric face-reading attendance machine has been introduced at the Corporation in all four zones of the Corporation to record the time employees check in and out of work.

With complaints of Corporation workers faking attendance the biometric attendance system is seen as a deterrent to employees trying to shirk work. The machines were installed in all zonal offices in the local body. Earlier, CCTV cameras were installed at the Infantry Road Corporation office

after complaints of employees asking for and accepting bribes and thefts at the Corporation offices. The cameras are monitored by Corporation executive engineer and commissioner.
