VILLUPURAM:A team of forest officials has set out to hunt down the man-eater, which was rumoured to have been spotted in a grove in Kottakuppam village on Wednesday.

After a two-day search, the team was unable to trace the cat or find any pug mark but said they would set a trap if the animal’s presence is confirmed.

Sources said, on Thursday night, Ramamorthy, a villager, was on his way to the grove when he reportedly spotted the silhouette of a cat-like animal, resting by the road.
