PU Assistant Prof Held for Murder Bid

PUDUCHERRY:Assistant Professor Kommaluri Vijayanand of Pondicherry University was arrested on charges of attempt-to-murder here on Friday.

Vijayanand allegedly tried to murder his second wife Sangeeta who was riding a two-wheeler by attempting to run her over by car.

Sources said Vijayanand married Sangeetha concealing the fact that he was already married and had two kids. Sources added that his first wife and children are based in Vijayawada.

Vijayanand and Sangeetha fell in love, tied the knot at a function in a temple and began living together on campus. But after a while, they developed differences, which often resulted in verbal exchanges.

Sources said Sangeetha was allegedly threatened by Vijayanand, who asked her to leave the house. Kalapet station, registered an attempt-to-murder case.
