Puducherry government pays floral tributes at the territorial assembly

PUDUCHERRY: Floral tributes were paid to Tamilnadu chief minister and AIADMK supremo.J Jayalalithaa  on behalf of the Puducherry administration today at the Puducherry Assembly premises .

Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy, Speaker of territorial Assembly V Vaithilingam , Ministers A Namassivayam, Malladi Krishna Rao, M Kandasamy and R Kamalakannan and legislators paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of Jayalalithaa inside the legislative assembly campus today.

Rich tributes were also paid to decorated portraits of the leader at different residential colonies here.

Condoling the demise Narayanasamy told newspersons that he was deeply grieved hearing the news of the demise of Jayalalithaa who is not with us now. Her demise is a great loss to Tamilnadu, he said adding that he is sharing the grief with the AIADMK workers.

Narayansamy expressed condolence on behalf of his cabinet colleagues,on behalf of the legislators ,on behalf of the people of Puducherry and on his own behalf.   He also recalled the several schemes introduced by Jayalalithaa in Tamilnadu. 

He also recalled her deep involvement in people’s welfare , bet it fishermen’s issue, Cauvery water issue to secure water for farmers of Tamilnadu and the assistance provided by her to get the Koodankulam power project started in the face of protests. Besides her  commitment to the requirements of Tamilnadu which she took up at Development council meetings.  He also said that he along with his cabinet colleagues and legislators  will visit Chennai to pay homage to the departed leader.

Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president and PWD minister  A Namasaivayam condoling the demise of Jayalalithaa said that her demise is an irrecoverable loss to the Tamil community as a whole.

Jayalalithaa with her administrative capabilities had evolved and implemented several schemes in Tamilnadu and looked after the party cadres like a mother .

On behalf of the PCC, Namasaivayam expressed condolence to the party cadres and the family members of Jayalalithaa and prayed to god  that her soul may rest in peace.

Lok Sabha member from Puducherry R Radhakrishnan also condoled the demise of Jayalalithaa.
