Priyanka Vadra Visits Puducherry for Daughter's Basketball Game

PUDUCHERRY: Priyanka Vadra, daughter of late Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, reached here for a  personal visit on Monday afternoon.

She reached here accompanying her daughter, Miraya Vadra, who is believed to be participating in the 42 sub junior national basketball championships, which will kick off here from Tuesday.

Priyanka, who reached in Chennai airport in the morning, travelled by car from Chennai and reached here in the afternoon. The invincible tight security cordon around the SPG protectee enabled to check in “ Palaise De Mahe” hoodwinking the waiting media persons.

Though the security apparatus is on full alert, there was no visible sign of its personnel around the place of her stay

Daughter Miraya Vadra is believed to be taking part in the championships, but officials are tightlipped about giving more details about her participation.

Twenty-teams, including three Union Territories, are participating in the championships, the final of which will be held on February 8. The championship will be played on league cum knock out basis.

Congress sources said party leaders and cadre were not in the know about the visit. Priyanka has no party functions scheduled during the visit.
