TIRUNELVELI/THOOTHUKUDI: Making clear the DMDK stand against the policy of successive governments to provide freebies, party founder Vijayakant’s wife Premalatha on Saturday accused both the DMK and AIADMK of ruining the people of the State through such moves.
After offering special prayer at Swami Nellaiappar Temple in the morning, she met the media in Tirunelveli. She claimed that some more parties would be roped into the alliance and the alliance would be finalised in another 10 days. Apart from that, the candidates selection process is also going on and the list would be released in another 10 days.
While delivering her address in Thoothukudi later, she claimed that Vijayakant is the only leader who formed the alliance based on the wishes of the cadre. She said the alliance would make a huge difference in the coming Assembly election.
Meanwhile, a case had been filed against Premalatha for allegedly asking the voters to get money for vote. In a public meeting in Tirunelveli on Friday, she had allegedly asked the voters not to accept `500 or `1,000, and instead told them to demand `1 lakh per vote. A case was registered in this regard at Tirunelveli Town Police Station under various Sections of the IPC.
