On advice from Jaya, Governor allocates her portfolios to OPS

Jayalalithaa was admitted to the Apollo hospital on September 22 and she has been advised longer stay in the hospital for treatment.

CHENNAI: On the advice of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao today allocated the portfolios looked after by her to Finance Minister O Panneerselvam.  He will also preside over Cabinet meetings.  

"Under Clause (3) of Article 166 of the Constitution of India, Governor has allocated the subjects hitherto dealt with by the Chief Minister to O Panneerselvam.  This arrangement has been made as per advice of the Chief Minister and will continue until she resumes her duties. Jayalalithaa will continue to be the Chief Minister", said a communication from the Raj Bhavan.

Opposition leader MK Stalin welcomed the decision of Governor and agreed to the allocation.
