VELLORE: Perarivalan, a convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case who was released on bail from the Vellore Central Prison on Thursday night reached his home in Jolarpet amidst tight police escort.
His relatives received him by performing the traditional arati and other rituals.  

An eight-member police team headed by a DSP is guarding the house on a round the clock vigil as directed by the government. Perarivalan has been prevented from talking to the newspersons as well.
On Friday, friends and relatives of the family were visiting him at his house which is named ‘Perarivalan Illam’.

His mother Arputhammal, who has been putting an unrelenting fight to get her son released from the jail for the past 27 years, while talking to some of the news channels, expressed her happiness.   
The elderly couple (Arputhammal and her husband Gnanasekaran) is planning to get the only son married soon as they believe good things should happen to him.

Unconfirmed sources claimed that many of the political leaders including the VCK leader Thirumavalavan, Kanimozhi (DMK), Vaiko (MDMK) are expected to visit Jolarpet to interact with Perarivalan, but not clear about the date and timing.
