Police posted at AIADMK MLA's houses in Tamil Nadu's Tirupur amid protests

A larger number of people staged agitations in Perumanallur and Pichampalayam against AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala and sought the presence of MLAs.

COIMBATORE: Police personnel were today posted at the houses of some AIADMK MLAs in nearby Tiruppur district after demonstrations were staged by local people demanding the presence of their legislators to attend to their grievances.
   
Police said two personnel each had been posted at the residences of three MLAs in Tirupur.
   
A larger number of people staged agitations in Perumanallur and Pichampalayam against AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala and sought the presence of MLAs, who are in Chennai, to redress their grievances, particularly water problem.
   
They blamed Sasikala for their constituency MLAs and also the district party Secretaries staying put in Chennai.
    
Meanwhile, former Coimbatore Mayor, T Malaravan today accused the AIADMK MLAs of abstaining from their constituencies without attending to the problems of the voters.
    
Gandhipuram AIADMK Area Secretary Srinivasan lodged a complaint with City Police Commissioner that eight party MLAs were missing since one week.
    
These MLAs could not be contacted by the people over the telephone, as they were unattended or mobile phones not reachable and sought police intervention to trace them.
