PM Modi's secretary TV Somanathan transferred to Tamil Nadu as principal secretary to government

Senior IAS officer Dr TV Somanathan, whose daughter’s wedding Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attended in Chennai recently, has been transferred to Tamil Nadu, his parent cadre.

CHENNAI: Senior IAS officer Dr TV Somanathan, whose daughter’s wedding Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attended in Chennai recently, has been transferred to Tamil Nadu, his parent cadre.
Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, Somanathan, who has been serving in the PM’s Office for more than one-and-half years, has been reverted to Tamil Nadu and posted as Principal Secretary to the government, Planning and Development and Special Initiatives.

Modi, who visited the State on November 6, made a personal visit in the midst of official engagements to the wedding of Somanathan’s daughter.

Five other officers have also been transferred to different postings around the State. Otem Dai, who is completing the deputation with the Union government, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to the government, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.

Ashok Dongre, who was Principal Secretary/Member-Secretary, Sports Development Authority, is the new Principal Secretary, Director Entrepreneurship Development Institute in the post created on a temporary basis.

P Senthilkumar, Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary to government, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department. S Sivashanmugaraja, Director of Adi Dravidar Welfare, has been posted as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu News Print and Papers Limited.
