A bandh call given by Opposition parties led by the DMK over the Cauvery issue is likely to hit normal life in Tamil Nadu, at least until 6 pm.

As the ruling AIADMK and opposition parties took to the streets in protest against the delay in formation of the CMB, demonstrations and agitations rage across the Delta.

Here's how you could be affected.

Most unions of public transport corporation support the bandh and autos have been instructed not to ply. A few political parties are planning rail blockades.

Most shops, hotels to remain shut as Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peravai & Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peramaippu support the bandh.

Schools may be forced to declare a holiday. On Wednesday, some private schools informed parents about it. More private schools may join by Thursday morning.

Protesters could mainly target Central government offices. So traffic on stretches where they are located may be hit.

Pharmacies, however, are expected to remain open. A few pharmacist associations say they participated in the Thursday strike.
