CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) to initiate disciplinary proceedings against officials who failed to comply with its earlier orders.
The TNCSC Managing Director should initiate appropriate disciplinary action against all officials who are responsible for such lapses, dereliction of duty and negligence in dealing with court matters, Justice S M Subramaniam said and posted a matter for April 25 for reporting compliance.

The judge observed that if at all any administrative difficulties had arisen, the authorities ought to have approached the court soon after the expiry of the time limit of four weeks. “This court is of the opinion that there is negligence, dereliction of duty and lapses on the part of the officers who have dealt with the writ petition,” the judge said and issued the directive for disciplinary action against the officials concerned.
