CHENNAI: Actor Kamal Hassan who is going to begin his political journey on February 21 at Rameshwaram met actor Rajinikanth at his house in Chennai on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters, the actor said meeting with Rajini was purely out of friendship and they have not discussed anything on politics. "When I took the decision (to launch a political) I informed him. Now, I have come to inform him about the political tour as there are hardly few days left," Kamal said.

Noting that Rajini's meeting was purely personal, he said he had been meeting with all those who are close to him before venturing his political journey. "We both share all the important happenings within our family for the past 40 years," he said, adding that Rajini has wished him best.

To a query on possibilities of working together with Rajini, Kamal said only time will decide on this. He said it's up to Rajni to attend the political meetings which he is planning to conduct as part of the political tour, he added.

Kamal is planning to begin a political tour on February 21, with public meetings in Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Manamadurai and Madurai. He is likely to reveal the name of his political party during the tour.

Rajinikanth, on the other hand, has announced that he would follow spiritual politics. He will announce his party's name on Wednesday.
