CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and senior ministers including KA Sengottaiyan called on ailing DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Monday.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister spent around 20 minutes in the Kauvery Hospital, where Karunanidhi is admitted.
Palaniswami, while addressing the media outside the hospital, said, "saw Karunanidhi in ICU. His health condition is stable."
Karunanidhi's son and DMK working president MK Stalin explained the treatment being given to his father to Palaniswami and Paneerselvam.
Meanwhile, Isha founder Jaggi Vasudev and MDMK general secretary Vaiko also visited Kavery hospital to inquire about the health of Karunanidhi. They met Stalin, Kanimozhi and others.
After visiting Kavery hospital, Palaniswami and Panneerselvam visited the government general hospital where veteran CPI leader D Pandian is being treated for respiratory problems. Both enquired his health.
On Sunday evening, the health condition of Karunanidhi suffered a ‘transient setback’. The last medical bulletin issued by Kavery hospital said, “with the active medical support, his vital signs are normalising. Karunanidhi continues to be closely monitored and treated by a panel of expert doctors.”
