Special trains to Tiruvannamalai for Karthigai Deepam

The return service will leave Vellore at 2.05 am on December 4, 5 and 6 and reach Villupuram at 5 am.

CHENNAI: Southern Railway will run a series of special trains from Chennai, Tirunelveli and Villupuram to Tiruvannamalai in view of the Karthigai Deepam festival.

The Tambaram-Tiruvannamalai MEMU Express Special will depart Tambaram at 9.15 am on December 3 and 4 and arrive in Tiruvannamalai at 1.30 pm. In the return direction, Tiruvannamalai-Tambaram service will leave at 5 pm on both days and reach Tambaram at 9 pm.

The Chennai Central-Chennai Beach Circular Express Special, operating via Arakkonam, Katpadi, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram and Tambaram, will leave Chennai Central at 9.15 am on December 3 and 4 and reach Chennai Beach at 7 pm.

The Villupuram-Vellore Cantt MEMU Special will depart Villupuram at 10.40 pm on December 3, 4 and 5 and arrive at Vellore at 1.45 am the following day. The return service will leave Vellore at 2.05 am on December 4, 5 and 6 and reach Villupuram at 5 am.

The Villupuram-Tiruvannamalai MEMU Express Special will leave Villupuram at 10.10 am on November 30 and on December 3, 4 and 5, reaching Tiruvannamalai at 11.45 am. The return service will depart Tiruvannamalai at 12.40 pm on all four days and arrive in Villupuram at 2.15 pm, a release said.

The Tirunelveli-Tiruvannamalai Express Special will start from Tirunelveli at 9.30 pm on December 3 and reach Tiruvannamalai at 8.30 am the next day.

The return train will leave Tiruvannamalai at 7.55 pm on December 4 and arrive in Tirunelveli at 8.30 am the following day. The railways will also operate special trains to Velankanni in view of the Kanduri festival in Nagore.

The Chennai Egmore -Velankanni Express Special will leave Chennai at 9.45 am on November 30. The return train will leave Velankanni at 7.30 am on December 1. The Villupuram-Nagapattinam MEMU will leave Villupuram at 9.10 am on November 30. In the return direction, the train will leave Nagapattinam at 1.20 pm.
