Third Bridge on Godavari at Parnasala

KHAMMAM: Here is a cheerful news for the people of Manugur, Eturunagaram and other places of south of Godavari.

The third bridge on the Godavari river in Khammam district is coming up very soon. The state government has sanctioned `95 crore for the construction of the bridge between Parnasala in Cherla mandal and Chinaraigudem in Manugur mandal. The state government is preparing to invite tenders for the construction of the bridge. Already two bridges, one between Bhadrachalam and Sarapaka and the second between Wazedu mandal and Eturunagaram mandal are under construction. The bridge at Bhadrachalam was sanctioned under Left Wing Extremism scheme by the Union government. National Highways officials are executing the two bridges. The construction of the third bridge between Parnasala and Chinaraigudem will be executed by the Roads and Buildings department, Government of Telangana.

The existing old bridge between Sarapaka and Bhadrachalam was constructed in 1964.The new bridge will come up between the famous temple Parnasala in Manguru mandal and the length of the bridge is 1.3 km.

It is a four-lane bridge. If it is completed the travel distance for Dummagudem in Bhadrachalam division and Manugur mandal will be reduced.
