Stephenson Nominated to Assembly

HYDERABAD: Former vice-president of the All-India Anglo Indian Association, Elvis Stephenson, (57) was on Thursday nominated as a Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Anglo-Indian community. 

The state government nominated Elvis Stephenson, Hyderabad-based businessman and social worker for the post.

After chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao recommended the name of Stephenson, governor ESL Narsimhan gave his nod for the appointment.

A native of Secunderabad, Stephenson runs a firm - Gas Point- that manufactures kitchen and bakery equipment.

“I have been in social work for long and this (appointment) will add to my responsibility which I will continue to do with new vigor,’’ Stephenson told Express.
