GO on Health Varsity Issued

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government on Friday issued GO Ms No.20 for establishment of ‘Kaloji University of Health Sciences’ and issued another two GOs making Warangal as the headquarters of the new health university and appointing Suresh Chanda, principal secretary (Health) as vice-chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences on full additional charge.

Deputy CM and health minister T Rajaiah, during an interaction with mediapersons, recalled that the Warangal Medical College campus, where the new health university is proposed to be located, was the biggest medical college campus in the country. When he was a medical student in 1978, the college campus was spread over 176 acres of land and shrank to 126 acres now, he said.
