Ex-Maoist Shankar Escapes Sword Attack

NALGONDA:Ex-Maoist Konapuri Shankar escaped unhurt during an attack by two sword wielding masked men at Idulagudem, while he was travelling with his driver and another person on Tuesday evening.

According to police, Shankar was travelling from Hyderabad to Valigonda and two masked men on a Pulsar bike attacked him with a sword when he reached Idulagudem. The window panes, rear and front glasses of the car were damaged in the attack but he was unhurt.Shankar has registered a complaint with Valigonda police.

This is second such attack on Shankar in the past six months for his alleged role in the murder of his relative, Konapuri Ramulu. Earlier he was shot, allegedly by supporters of Ramulu at Dasireddygudem which had left a bullet-wound in his arm.
