Jurala Hydel Plant Goes on Stream

HYDERABAD: The commercial operation of the second unit of Lower Jurala hydro-electric project (6X40 MW) commenced on October 5.

The commercial operation was officially announced by the TS Genco here on Thursday.

The installed capacity test for declaration of commercial operation date (COD) of Unit-2 of Lower Jurala Hydro Electric Project  commenced at 12.30 hours on October 5 and completed successfully at 15.30 hours on the same day, according to an official press release by the corporation.

“The average load observed during the test was 40.461 MW and the performance of the unit was found to be satisfactory,” it said.

After the successful completion of the test, Genco declared the commercial operation date (COD) of Unit-2 of Lower Jural Hydero Electric Project with effect from October 5.

Genco added 40 MW to the grid with the COD of Unit-2 and will be in a position to supply additional generation during peak hours and additional water available in the river during the flow.
