Alampur MLA to Hold Fast for RDS

Express News Service

MAHABUBNAGAR:Congress leader and Alampur MLA Sampath Kumar said that he would hold a Mahadeeksha on May 9 at Sindanoor of Ieeja mandal for completion of the RDS project to help farmers of the district.

Speaking to Express on Monday, Kumar said that irrigation minister T Harish Rao did not keep up his word on the RDS project and added that he will hold the deeksha to protest against the retraction of the minister.

The MLA said that all the irrigation projects in the district are in a dormant state for the last two years and mocked that the status of the ministers from the district is also the same. He also took a dig at Harish Rao's statement that he would sleep at irrigation project sites to complete them on time.

Kumar also targeted chief minister KCR and alleged that he had completely forgotten about the project after using it as a weapon to come to power.
