HYDERABAD: Vikarabad town, 70 km from here, hit the headlines on Friday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wife Jashodaben making a surprise visit to this small town. She performed special pujas at Nagadevatha and Santoshimata temples in the town.

Jashodaben took part in the Annadanam programme and distributed food to the devotees at the temples. 

According to sources, Jashodaben had arrived in the town as per the invitation of Baradi Ramesh, former municipal councillor of Vikarabad.

A few local BJP leaders also accompanied her to the temple. It is learnt that she came with her brother on Thursday night and stayed at Ramesh’s house. Local police said there was no protocol or security advice on her visit and added that she board a flight to Ahmedabad on Saturday morning.
