ADILABAD: Criticising the state government for not granting permission to observe anniversary of the infamous Indravelli police firing, in which many tribals were killed, Indravelli Amaraveerula Sadhana Samiti demanded the government to observe the tragedy as it is being done in the case of Jallianwalla Bagh incident by the Centre.

Indravelli incident had drawn nationwide condemnation and criticism. Every year scores of tribals assemble at the place to pay tributes to the martyrs.

The massacre of tribals in police firing at the village in Adilabad completes 36 years on April 20. The police impose Section 144 in the village from April 1 to 30 every year to prevent tribals from observing the anniversary.
