HYDERABAD: The members of a family whose residence is allegedly occupied illegally by Chilakalguda corporator Hema Samala’s father Karate Raju have sent a video clipping to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seeking his intervention.

Chilakalguda police had registered criminal cases against Karate and arrested him after he assaulted 68-year-old Veera Swamy a few days ago. The family will now approach DCP, North Zone, B Sumathi seeking protection for their family from Raju who was released from jail recently, and has threatened the victim.

Swami’s daughter Supriya said that Raju assaulted her father when he was alone at the residence few days ago. Swami received grievous injuries to his eyes and Raju occupied their residence illegally. Following the incident, minister Padmarao Goud assured them of getting their property back from Raju. “The GHMC corporator belongs to TRS. Officials failed to take action till now,” Supriya alleged.
