HYDERABAD: A fourth-year student of IIIT-Basar hanged herself to death in her college hostel on Friday.
K Radha, 21, a native of Nalgonda district, was staying at a hostel and pursuing her education in IIIT Basar. She was found hanging from the ceiling in her hostel room on Friday.
IIIT-Basar vice-chancellor V Satyanarayana claimed Radha was suffering from “mental depression” since the past few days and that she had undergone counselling session nearly 10 days back.
“We had also informed the girl's parents about her condition and had asked them to take the girl home for some days,'' said the VC, adding the girl's parents did not take the girl home.
