SIDDIPET : A day after Dubbak SI Chitti Babu shot himself and his wife Saroja dead, the SI’s son Prem Kumar lodged a complaint at the Dubbak police station. In his complaint, he alleged that police commissioner Shivakumar and ACP Narsimha Reddy were responsible for his father’s suicide.

However, no case was registered. This is despite the fact that DIG Akun Sabharwal had promised action for the deaths. Cases have been registered against Chittibabu u/s 302 and 174.

On Saturday, activists held a dharna at the police station demanding action against police officials responsible for the deaths.  A senior police officer meanwhile felt that Chitti Babu killed his wife first as he presumed that his children will not take care of her.

About nine months ago, Kukunoorpally SI Ramakrishna Reddy had also committed suicide allegedly due to harassment and corruption of higher officials.

“Chitti Babu had booked 80 cases against wine shops in just two years at Dubbak police station. If he is corrupt, why would he book so many cases,” an activist questioned.

Dubbak MLA S Ramalinga Reddy said Chitti Babu hailed from a Dalit family and his demise was a shock to him.
