CHINNA MADHARAM (NALGONDA DIST): Chinna Madharam village panchayat, headed by BJP sarpanch Pindi Bhagyamma, in Kangal mandal of Nalgonda district created a record by ensuring that all 690 families have LPG connections under Deepam scheme.

The panchayat also achieved a rare distinction of opening Jan Dhan accounts for all the villagers under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, besides ensuring that at least 70 per cent households have toilets as per the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission.

The village’s rare distinction drew the attention of BJP central leadership and party national president Amit Shah on Tuesday paid a special visit to the village to project it as a ‘model village’ for implementation of welfare measures by the BJP.

“The Central government has been implementing 107 welfare schemes for the welfare of people. Chinna Madharam is one of the model villages, utilizing all the Central funds and providing better infrastructure,” Amit Shah praised.
