HYDERABAD: Political thinker and writer Kancha Ilaiah accused BJP of encouraging Arya-Vysyas community to attack him for writing a book against them. While taking part in a meeting organised by Telangana Mass and Social Organisations Forum (T-MAS) here on Thursday, Ilaiah said a large number of youth led by BJP leaders had hurled footwear and eggs at him in Korutla town, Jagtial district on Wednesday.

“While I was addressing media in Korutla on Wednesday, some of the BJP leaders sporting saffron Kanduvas tried to attack me. After that, at Korutla Court premises also, some youth led by local BJP leaders tried to threaten me by chanting slogans against me. This clearly proves that BJP is behind the ongoing attack by Arya Vysyas against me,” Ilaiah said. The social activist, who has been in the news for his controversial book written against Arya Vysyas, further said that he was speaking on behalf of the downtrodden classes in the society, while BJP was supporting people belonging to the upper class.
“BJP is backing the capitalists and merchant class.

It is not thinking about the problems of weaker sections of the society. The saffron party
is doing grave injustice to farmers, Dalits and minorities by not focussing its attention on their issues. The writers, who are with the saffron party, are also glorifying the deeds of the privileged class people and are not giving a thought to the woes of commoners and weaker sections,”Kancha Ilaiah alleged.
