HYDERABAD: Congress leader A Revanth Reddy on Saturday said the discrepancies pointed out in handling of State finances by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in its audit report for 2016-17, had proved that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was unable to rule the State properly.

“As the CM has confined himself to Pragathi Bhavan, the entire administrative machinery has fall into a sort of apathy. Now, the CM is trying to sideline the Finance Minister E Rajender for the lapses pointed out by the CAG in the State finances. In fact, all the irregularities have taken place without the knowledge of the Finance Minister as Chief Minister himself released funds for various works by ignoring the Finance Minister,” Reddy said, while addressing media persons here on Saturday.

The Kondangal MLA said the Congress would complain against the State government to Central agencies, seeking comprehensive probe into irregularities mentioned by the CAG. He demanded that a white paper be released on the CAG findings with regard to purchase of power at higher price by the power utilities in the State.Expressing similar view, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka too sought an explanation from the Chief Minister over the points raised by the CAG.
