HYDERABAD: The Central Pollution Control Board on Friday told the Hyderabad High Court that it would require four months time to study the pollution affected in Patancheru, Bollaram and other areas surrounding the capital city.
Taking this submission into consideration, a division bench of the Court comprising Chief Justice TBN Radhakrishnan and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan directed the authorities of CPCB and the ministry of environment to file counter-affidavits giving reasons for seeking four months time on the issue.
The bench was dealing with a petition filed by Dr Reddy’s laboratories submitting that the order of the National Green Tribunal in New Delhi has become a hurdle for the company’s proposal to expand its unit in Patancheru area. The bench adjourned the case hearing by four weeks for filing the counter affidavit by the CPCB and ministry of environment.
