YS Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal assets case accused Vijaya Sai is public servant: CBI

HYDERABAD: The CBI told the special CBI court, Hyderabad on Friday that Rajya Sabha member V Vijaya Sai Reddy, accused number two in the illegal assets case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, would come under the category of a public servant and the court, therefore, got the jurisdiction to hear the case.

The special CBI court was hearing the discharge petitions filed by Jagati Publications in the Ramky episode of illegal assets case.

CBI counsel K Surender submitted that Vijaya Sai Reddy had worked as director of Oriental Bank of Commerce. Based on the recommendation of the then chief minister he was appointed bank director to the finance department of OBC.

Under the Prevention of Corruption Act, a bank director would come under public servant category, he argued. The court posted the matter to August 3.
