HYDERABAD:  Defending abrogation of Article 370 by Narendra Modi government, BJP Mahila Morcha national president Vijaya Rahatkar stated that the move would bring peace and prosperity to the Kashmir valley. Speaking on Abrogation of Article 370 and triple talaq as part of the ‘Jan Jagran Sabha’ organised by the saffron party across the nation here on Monday, Vijaya stated that Article 370 was a grave mistake committed by first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, which was corrected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after 70 years.

“People of Kashmir were denied a lot of benefits due to Article 370. Now they will be able to enjoy all the benefits provided by the Centre to rest of the country,” she said. Commenting on Triple Talaq Bill, Vijaya Rahatkar said that the new law would provide relief to Muslim women as they could take their husbands to task if they try to divorce them using triple talaq.  “Triple talaq is anti-Islam as it is not in Sharia law.

The new law will give relief to Muslim women and protect them and their children from injustice,” she opined. BJP State unit chief K Laxman stated that abrogation of Article 370 would help in the development of Kashmir.
