HYDERABAD: GMR Hyderabad International Airport has achieved a remarkable global feat of being the most punctual airport in the world. According to a recent report by aviation analytical firm, Cirium, GMR Hyderabad International Airport recorded an impressive on-time performance (OTP) of 90.43% in the month of March.

High OTP places Hyderabad airport in a league of its own, as it is the only airport in the world to surpass the 90% mark. Cirium conducted a comprehensive review of over 5 million flights globally during the month of March and ranked Hyderabad airport at the top in both the ‘Global Airports’ and ‘Large Airports’ categories.

Notably, in November 2022, Hyderabad airport was ranked 4th in the ‘Large Airports’ category with an OTP of 88.44%. The selection criteria for this ranking were based on the actual gate departure service, which must have a coverage of 80% or better.

Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, expressed his happiness over the achievement and attributed them to the continuous implementation of the latest technological innovations, the adoption of best operational measures, and the development of world-class infrastructure.

“The airport’s ongoing investments in people, technology, and skill development to consistently deliver an exceptional travel experience is the reason behind this feat,” he said.
