Telangana HC can’t hear Margadarsi Chit Fund plea, says AP

Responding to this, Special Government Pleader Govind Reddy, representing the State of Andhra Pradesh, said that all the audited branches are in AP and Investigation Officers are all AP residents.

HYDERABAD: Mummineni Sudheer Kumar of the Telangana High Court Justice on Thursday directed the Andhra Pradesh CID not to create hurdles in the way of Margadarsi Chit Fund subscribers during the inspection of documents. The judge was hearing a writ petition filed by P Rajaji, vice-president, Margadarsi Chit Funds, urging the court to declare the interference in the company’s day-to-day business activities while investigating various FIRs as arbitrary and illegal. 

Responding to this, Special Government Pleader Govind Reddy, representing the State of Andhra Pradesh, said that all the audited branches are in AP and Investigation Officers are all AP residents. However, Margadarsi chose to petition the Telangana High Court,” he said, adding that the court lacks geographical authority.
