HYDERABAD: Urging students to be job creators instead of just job seekers, former undivided Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is also the president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), delivered a speech at the first graduation ceremony of the Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP) here on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “India can become the biggest economy by 2047 through public policy reforms. We have both technological and demographic advantages today with 40 per cent of the population below 25 years of age. With proper skills and policies, youngsters like you can make India grow 15-16 times and surpass China and the US by 2047.”
The KSPP offers a full-time residential master’s programme in Public Policy. At the convocation ceremony, 43 students donned graduation gowns and sashes as they stepped up to receive their degrees from Naidu.
The convocation ceremony was attended by several eminent academicians including V-C of GITAM (deemed to be university) Dr Dayananda Siddavattam, GITAM president Sri Bharat Mathukumilli and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of GITAM Hyderabad Prof DS Rao.
