HYDERABAD: After restructuring the three police commissionerates into three commissionerates and a district Superintendent of Police (SP) office, the state government on Monday transferred and posted four senior officials.
Rachakonda Commissioner G Sudheer Babu has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of the newly created Future City Commissionerate.
Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Malkajgiri, a new commissionerate formed by reorganising the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
Move to streamline law enforcement
Inspector General of Police (Provisioning and Logistics) Dr M Ramesh has been transferred and posted as Cyberabad Commissioner following the reorganisation of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
Yadadri Bhongir Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police of the newly created Yadadri Bhongir district, formed after the reorganisation of the commissionerate.
The state government has reorganised the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and restructured police jurisdictions accordingly. As part of the exercise, certain areas from adjacent commissionerates will be merged into the Hyderabad Commissionerate, including Shamshabad, which will now fall under Hyderabad jurisdiction.
The move is aimed at streamlining law enforcement and strengthening airport security management, particularly for the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad. As a result, the Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates will be reduced zone-wise.
Meanwhile, the zones of the Hyderabad Commissionerate will be renamed after prominent localities, replacing the existing directional nomenclature. The current West, East, North, South, South-East and South-West zones will be renamed Khairatabad, Golconda, Charminar, Rajendranagar, Secunderabad and Shamshabad respectively.
