HYDERABAD: Assembly Whips Yennam Srinivas Reddy, Aadi Srinivas, Vemula Veeresham, Ch Vijayaramana Rao and Beerla Ilaiah have accused BRS Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao and his party of not digesting Congress’s effective administration and welfare initiatives in the state.

Speaking at a press conference at the CLP office in the Assembly on Tuesday, the MLAs alleged that Harish Rao, who they claimed looted the state during his 10 years as a minister, had begun targeting Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, who had left the BRS in 2023.

The whips slammed Harish Rao and KT Rama Rao for allegedly spreading false propaganda against the government and for their criticism of Srinivasa Reddy, asserting that the minister had no ties to the mining or crusher business. They clarified that Raghava Constructions had been purchasing material from Tirumala Crushers for several years, and questioned what was wrong with such transactions, adding that the firm was not involved in mining and only sourced materials for its business.

The whips also objected to the senior legislators raising a land dispute issue in the Assembly that is currently sub judice. They noted that the property in question involved family disputes among the owners and stressed that Srinivasa Reddy had nothing to do with it. The MLAs demanded that Harish Rao and Rama Rao tender open apologies to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Srinivasa Reddy.
