HYDERABAD: Demanding the immediate resignation of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and a judicial probe into the Section 22-A prohibited lands issue, BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao on Friday alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s brother A Tirupathi Reddy had secured an illegal nala conversion.
The Siddipet legislator made the allegation while giving a PowerPoint presentation on lands included in the list of prohibited properties. He also alleged that affected families were being asked to pay 30% commission for corrections, and charged that Revanth was “A-1” and Srinivasa Reddy “A-2” in the alleged irregularities.
He alleged that Tirupathi Reddy had obtained the nala conversion through the Bhu Bharati portal.

After the original owners sold the land in 1967, the parcel was divided into 68 plots in 1985. In 2008, Tirupathi Reddy, along with Vijaya Ram and another person, allegedly executed a sale deed for the land. A Rangareddy court rejected the deed in January 2018, Harish said, adding that a suit filed by Tirupathi Reddy in November 2018 was also rejected.
Harish alleged that the previous government rejected Tirupathi Reddy’s nala conversion applications twice and the district collector later rejected his request for a pattadar passbook. However, the Congress government permitted the conversion in 2024, he alleged. He questioned how land already divided into plots and with houses constructed on it could be granted nala conversion without a panchanama by the local tahsildar.
Harish also alleged that the chief minister knew about the inclusion of more than one crore acres in the 22-A list. Referring to statements attributed to R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, he said Revanth had known about the issue for four months.
He alleged that HMDA and HUDA auctioned lands, housing society properties in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, and large parts of Shaikpet had also been included in the list.
“Ameenpur alone left around 50,000 families in distress. In Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, I received around 10,000 applications from affected people,” Harish said.
Harish further claimed that the chief minister’s house had also appeared in the 22-A list but was removed after the issue was raised. “If the chief minister’s property can be removed overnight, why are ordinary people being forced to run from office to office?” he asked. He alleged that district collectors could not have made such errors without instructions from the government.
