HYDERABAD: The first and second year intermediate results released on Sunday by Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) saw a rise in the pass percentage by five points compared to last year’s results. While 62 per cent of second year intermediate students passed in 2016, this year 67 per cent passed.

However, the pass percentage of first year intermediate students fell from The pass percentage of inter first year students 57%, an improvement of three per cent from 2016. Medchal district had the highest overall pass percentage of 82 per cent for second year intermediate students while Hyderabad district had a pass percentage of just 67 per cent. Girls once again outperformed boys in the state in both intermediate years. While pass percentage among girls in the second year and years was 71 per cent and 63 per cent respectively, for boys it was 61 per cent and 51 per cent respectively.  more: P2
