PEDDAPALLI : Goliwada village remained tense on Monday as police arrested around 60 farmers, including 20 women, for preventing work on Sundilla Pump house o the Kaleshwaram project.  

Upon learning that the irrigation authorities had resumed project works on their patta lands, the villagers rushed to the spot.

They objected to irrigation department’s move as there is a High Court stay on taking up works on the 240 acres patta lands.


Expressing objections, the farmers sat in front of the vehicles of irrigation officials. As many as 60 villagers were then rounded-off and shifted to the Ramagundam police station. They were not let off till the last reports came.
